Master’s Thesis Opportunity in Parkinson’s Research
The Martens Lab at the Max Perutz Labs is offering a Master’s position to study how Parkinson’s disease aggregates affect the human brain. We provide state-of-the art facilities and a collaborative, international environment. We are curiosity-driven researchers who are not limited to specific techniques – we use the best tools available to answer fundamental questions in neurodegeneration.

About the position / the research project
You will use state-of-the-art bottom-up approaches, proteomics, AI, and cell biology to investigate how patient-derived protein aggregates interact with cytoplasmic components of neurons, with a focus on autophagy.
Candidates
Successful candidates should
- Hold a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or equivalent
- Have basic familiarity with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology core techniques
