The WWTF funds three teams of our SFB in Targeted Protein Degradation

This year’s Chemical Biology call within the WWTF Life Science Program invited scientists to submit a project at the interface of chemistry and biology. Projects should develop or apply innovative chemical methods to understand and modify biological systems.

In total, eight research teams were funded in this call of the WWTF (Vienna Science and Technology Fund). It is worth noting that three of the funded research groups are also members of our SFB in Targeted Protein Degradation:

Yasin Dagdas (GMI – Gregor Mendel Institute of Molecular Plant Biology

Project: Decrypting ufmylation through chemical biology

Co-Principal Investigator: Elif Karagöz (Medical University of Vienna)

See project

Georg Winter (CeMM – Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences)

Project: Chemical Reprogramming of Autophagy Receptors

Co-Principal Investigator: Sascha Martens (University of Vienna, Max Perutz Labs)

See project

Tim Clausen (IMP – Research Institute of Molecular Pathology)

Project: Using activity-based probes to study the mechanism and regulation of the giant E3 ligase Huwe1

Co-Principal Investigator: Noelia Urban (IMBA – Institute of Molecular Biotechnology)

See project
